Parties
- Opening Parenthesis
- Our first Parens Party to connect, share ideas and shape the community.
- The First Argument
- First argument: Where Lisp expressions begin their journey.
A community where we explore parentheses together, share ideas and celebrate the playful spirit of modern Lisp and functional programming.
We are trying to bring Lisp enthusiasts together in a friendly and casual setting. We host virtual meetups and run mob programming sessions where anyone can join, whether you want to code, learn functional thinking or just watch as part of the audience.
This is a space to explore modern Lisps like Clojure, Hy, Jank, Janet, Glojure and more in a fun relaxed way. You don’t need to be an expert, here you can be curious, goofy, experimental and learn without judgement.
Our goal is to embrace the Lisp way of thinking, practice functional programming and connect with people to grow a vibrant modern Lisp community.
We are planning to gather every other weekend to connect, share discoveries and spark conversations around Lisp. It’s all happening in our Telegram space where everyone is welcome to drop in, listen or take part. Let’s discuss together how to make it happen, come be part of the party at our telegram group.
Not at all. Whether you are just hearing about Lisp for the first time, exploring functional programming concepts or already an experienced Lisper. Beginners can learn at their own pace, curious learners can experiment and ask questions. Seasoned fans can share knowledge or simply hang out. It’s a space for all levels to explore and enjoy together.
Absolutely! You don’t need to present or code if you don’t feel ready. Many people start by simply watching and listening to the discussions, picking up ideas and learning at their own pace. Being part of the audience is a great way to get comfortable with Lisp and the community without any pressure.
Our meetups are relaxed and community-driven. We chat about Lisp, share tips or discoveries and sometimes do live coding together. The focus is on exploring the Lisp mindset, experimenting and learning in a fun and supportive way. Every meetup is different, but the vibe stays casual, open and welcoming.
It is intentionally casual and friendly. It’s not about rigid schedules or formal talks, but about creating a space where people can explore Lisps without judgement. You can be curious, playful, even goofy, while learning and making new friends. Think of it more as a hangout than a classroom.
Joining is simple, just head over to our group at telegram. Once you’re in, you’ll get updates about upcoming meetups, discussions and any fun ideas the community is working on. There’s no sign-up process or barrier, you can jump right in and be part of the party.
We chose Telegram because it makes participation simple and accessible. It supports up to 1000 members in a video call with screen sharing, which means we can host large interactive sessions without worrying about limits. It’s also free, easy to join from any device and already familiar to many people. This makes it the perfect place to gather, learn and keep the community connected.
